Lost it. Found it. Post-it.

“…we have the mind of Christ.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

For the record, I am not going crazy (Erin recommended I say this). However, I am outside my own mind. You see, my old ways of thinking are strangely fading away and my mind is now daily transforming clearer into the conscious of Jesus Christ.

I’ve concluded that His way of thinking is greater and higher; but it has become necessary to loosen the grip on my own to fully grasp His.

If this thinking and it’s ways are my life beat – journaling is it’s rhythm. If I’m not penning, my prayer is assuredly lacking. The pen is the instrument of my prayers. From my heart, to my mind, to my hand, to the pen, from it’s ink, to the paper….there lands the communing between this soul and it’s God.

Over the years, I’ve filled piles of black Moleskine notebooks with both prayerful petitions and received revelations. If you were to open up these worn pads, you’d find colorful Post-it notes stuck to the black-inked cream pages. Amidst my readings, meditations, and scribbles I’ve often found it useful to summarize my soul’s stirring into simple statements. It should only fit on a Post-it note. It’s date in the bottom left corner and it’s inspiration on the right (almost exclusively Bible passages). In this way, as I thumb through journals of years past, I can quickly see, sense, and savor the themes of that season. What my mind may have lost in the days and months of bustle is again found.

To me, these 2″x2″ colored squares are treasures.
They rainbow the pages of my pilgrimage.

I plan to post here on whollyhome.life more Post-it promises. Sporadic and short. True to their purpose. Some with more explanation and others with less.

I pray they stir you to hope and faith.

  1. I am always thankful to have the opportunity to hear what God says through you. It’s not often but I am always challenged. This was no exception. I always pray for you, Erin and your family when God brings you to mind.
