The Lord had this hallway highlight hanging in our home and hearts many many weeks ago.
In ancient times, particularly in dry thirsty terrain, wells were bedrocks for a community. They were a literal reservoir of life. A place to desperately throw your empty bucket and gratefully draw up the refreshment of water. Here’s the thing: wells only existed if the source deep below the surface was discovered and dug.
God, lead us again to the source of your living waters. May we be the generation to dig deeper. We pray that our hearts and homes always aim to be that pleasant persistent place for all who come and for all who go. Whether in body or in spirit, we hope to be a refreshment for weary empty buckets.
In these dry dreary days,
may we love well,
may our well flow love.
“We love, because He first loved us.”
– 1 John 4:19
